Christmasboothinterest

Talking to strangers was once a very scary thing for me. Speaking a foreign language to a stranger, who was also a native speaker, scared the begeebees out of me. As a missionary that was, however, a necessity. The Christmas fair booth helped me so much in that capacity. The Slovenian people were so gracious as I tripped and stumbled over their language. They actually thanked me for learning their language and culture and complimented me, saying I spoke better than they did. That wasn’t even close to the truth, but I wasn’t yet able to speak fluently so I very thoughtfully and slowly put my words together, attempting to use the correct endings and sentence structure. Thank you, all you amazing people, for giving me the chance to make mistakes until I could get it right! My fear of talking to strangers is almost completely gone. Ask any of my kids. 😉
